OPEN SESAME

Hollywood Magic Castle
The Magic Castle was a mansion originally built in 1909, later transformed into a home for the elderly, then became a private club for magicians in 1963. You can visit the the magic castle if you enter with a member, or are invited. Each room holds a magic show during certain times. Luckily, I have a magician friend and got to visit the world famous Magic Castle! No pictures are allowed past the Owl Bookcase, but I did what I could. To pass through the Magic Castle you must recite the magic words and the Owl Bookcase opens. There are bars and dining rooms to have dinner or drinks in-between each show.

It's filled with aspiring magicians and almost all of them had a deck of cards to show their tricks while we waited for the rooms to open for the private shows. There is a dungeon, a Houdini Seance Room filled with his belongings, and invisible Irma. There is a seance held on the day of Houdinis death, October 31st every year to try and bring him back from the dead. The story of Invisble Irma, who was a pianist for the millionaire home owner, haunts the house and still plays your requests as you slip a dollar into her bird's cage. It was a magical night and the magicians were incredible!
