CALIFORNIA GRUNION RUN

Southern California Grunion Run 2011

OKAY! TIME TO HEAD TO THE BEACH! From March through August during high tide, small silver fish known as grunion “run” ashore by the thousands to spawn in the sand at night. Grunion runs usually last for four nights, and spawning begins at high tide each night and continues for around two hours, with the second hour usually being the most active.
